Kindergarten and Grade 1 Registration Information 2015/2016 School Year

The Braintree Public Schools announces that Kindergarten and First Grade registration for September, 2015 will be held the

Week of January 5, 2015 – January 9, 2015

9:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.


All Elementary Schools

The Braintree Public Schools offer both half-day kindergarten and full-day kindergarten. The full-day kindergarten program is done via a lottery system and has a fee of $3,000.00 per year. For those families eligible for free or reduced lunch, there is a reduced tuition rate.

The Full Day Kindergarten Lottery will be held on January 22, 2015

@ 1:00 p.m. in the Braintree High School Auditorium.

 Those families interested in full-day kindergarten must return the lottery
registration paperwork by January 12, 2015 to their home school 
in order to be included in the full-day kindergarten lottery.

if you have not already received them.


Children must be five years of age by August 31, 2015. The School Immunization Law,

Chapter 76, Section 15 of the General Laws requires immunization against diphtheria,

pertussis (whooping cough), tetanus, poliomyelitis, measles, mumps, rubella, and

hepatitis B, and varicella, and screening for lead poisoning and a current physical

examination including a vision screening with stereopsis. The school immunization

requirements requires that each child entering Kindergarten show proof of having

received a second measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccination and second varicella

vaccination. The law states: "no child shall, except as hereinafter provided, be admitted

to school."
