Many of you have met me over the past few years at the annual IEP meetings, some of you I will be meeting for the first time. You have trusted me with your son or daughter, a task I do not take lightly. So I will share a bit about my background. I started out a with a degree in special ed and taught at both the preschool and elementary level. I then went back to school to become a therapist and have been working for the past 20 years in pediatrics though in a variety of settings. I have worked in Early Intervention through high school; from home based services to clinic setting to hospital/rehab setting; with students having minimal areas of weakness to those who are multiply and severely impaired - enjoying all and growing personally and professionally in each setting.
One of my goals for the year is to improve communication between myself and your family. Another goal is to improve consultation services within the classroom in order to better serve students in the environment that your child spends most of his day.
