Braintree Fund for Education, Inc.

The Braintree Fund for Education, Inc. (BFFE) is a 501c3 non-profit organization, comprised of volunteers from all 10 Parent Teacher Organizations, whose mission is to raise funds for the Braintree Public School System. The fund directly benefits the High School, East Middle, South Middle, Flaherty, Highlands, Hollis, Liberty, Morrison, Ross and the Integrated Pre-School.

What has the Braintree Fund for Education accomplished?

The BFFE has sponsored three fund raising events: The 2006, 2007 and 2008 Jim Plunkett Nights at Florian Hall in Dorchester. Combined, these three events raised over one hundred seventeen thousand dollars. The funds have been used to wire every elementary classroom in the system for high speed internet access as well as purchasing 58 LCD projectors and training 58 teachers on how to operate the projectors. In addition, this past year each school received a one thousand dollar technology grant and we have established a teacher grant program, which funds worthwhile and innovative classroom projects.

What are the future goals of the Braintree Fund for Education?

The BFFE will continue to support the advancement of technology within our schools and fund the mini-grant program to give our teachers the opportunity to enhance the educational lives of our students. The BFFE invites everyone to come and join us in achieving our mission. Together, we believe, we can continue to make a difference and have a positive impact on our children’s education by giving them the academic resources that they need to succeed.
